The movie received mixed praises. Anushka Sharma starred in the film "Band Baaja Baaraat. She played the role of a Punjabi woman in the middle class who owns her own wedding company. The film received excellent reviews and was widely regarded as to be a surprise to be a success. The Band Baaja Baaraat anushka's three-film deal under the Yash Raj Films banner was complete.
