Ari Lennox

Courtney Shanade Salter, also known as Ari Lennox, a Washington, D.C.-based American singer/songwriter, was signed as Dreamville Records' the first artist of female gender with Dreamville Records by J. Cole. On the 21st of October, 2016, she released Pho, her first EP under the Dreamville Records label. It was at this point that she gained her first the attention of her peers. The album that she released as her debut album Shea Butter Baby was released on May 7, 2019. Ari Lennox has uploaded her music on the internet since 2012 following the debut mixtape "Five Finger Discount" and her EP Ariography. In 2014, Ari Lennox dropped her own single Bound along with her mixtape, which she released herself, Five Finger Discount. The song was included in Omen's Elephant Eyes and on Sweat It Out on the 21st of July in 2015. J. Cole was interested in her talent and wanted to work with Rihanna. She officially was signed by Dreamville Records on 8 December. In the album Revenge of the Dreamers II which she was featured on, she sang the track Backseat alongside Cozz. On October 21, 2016 her debut EP was released titled Pho. Ari Lennox later appeared on J. Cole's track Change and also performed as the opener on the 4 Your Eyez Only Tour in the year 2017. She also appeared in 2018 in two of her songs with label-mates EarthGang to Nothing but the Best. and Bas on Icarus. The debut album of Ari Lennox Shea Butter Baby was released on July 16, 2018. The debut single, called Whipped Cream The album's first single, Whipped Cream dropped on September 5, 2018 with the music video. Then on the 9th November the singer released two more singles titled 40 Shades of Choke (and Grampa). In November 2013, she dropped No One as well as Pedigree. She was featured with Cole on her Creed II Soundtrack on Shea Butter Baby, on November 16th, and released the song as a solo single for her first album. This track, which was made available with a video on YouTube on February 20, 2019, was watched more than three million times over the first seven days. In support of the track, she toured in concert with 6LACK in December 2018 on the From East Atlanta With Love Tour.
